Altinkum is conveniently located close to two airports in Izmir and Bodrum with frequent flights from most UK airports. Altinkum is 1 hour from Bodrum and 1.5 hours from Izmir.

What to do in Altinkum

- Altinkum is most famous for its many long and sandy beaches that shelve gently into the warm and clear waters of the Aegean Sea. The name ‘Altinkum’ means golden sands.There are many watersport activities in Altinkum you can participate in. For more water fun you can visit the nearby Didim Aqua Park.
- Didim Marina is the newly completed project that will have a huge positive impact on the local economy and the property market. The Marina has a yacht club, heliport for the rich and famous as well as a shopping centre, sports centre, restaurants, banks and more.
- There are daily boat trips to the enchanting island of Samos where you can enjoy a glass or two of its renowned sweet wine.
- A few minutes outside Altinkum in Didim you will find ruins of the famous Apollo Temple. This temple's porch originally held 120 columns. Ancient Didyma was not a town, but the home of a god and his priest. In the temple grounds are fragments of its rich decoration including a striking head of Medusa.
- If you fancy a bit of shoppinng in Altinkum remember to visit the Saturday Bazaar. There are three large supermarket chains: Migros, Tansas and Gima competing for your business by keeping prices low.
- Altinkum has a lively nightlife and particularly on the promenade you will find dozens of nightclubs and bars. Throughout the season they stay open until the small hours. It is not unusual to see happy tourists emerging from the nightclubs at 5am. Along with hosts of cafes and restaurants you will not need to look far for refreshments.

Altinkum receives a high number of repeat guests from abroad especially from the UK and Ireland as well as from Turkey. Atmosphere in Altinkum is very friendly with most locals being able to speak English.
