About Altinkum

Altinkum is a small and friendly resort on the Aegean coast. It is a long established holiday resort very popular with the British. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that Altinkum is a small British village.

The name “Altinkum” means golden sands and it fully deserves its name as it boasts some of the best beaches in Turkey with crystal clear turquoise sea.
It is located between two resorts of Kusadasi and Bodrum and is within 1.5 hour drive from Bodrum and Izmir airports.

Altinkum has many restaurants, bars and shops with prices lower than those found in other resorts on the Aegean .

Local street bazaar is open on Saturdays

Dolphin Square is the centre of Altinkum with many shops, bars and restaurants, and nightspots

Two Aqua Parks, one smaller one just outside Altinkum/Didim (about 20 - 30 min car journey) and one just north of Kusadasi, which is the largest in Europe
Weather in Altinkum
Altinkum has a typical Mediterranean climate with mild winters and hot summers, with temperature often rising above 30ºC (86ºF) in July and August. Showers are unlikely in the summer months, but the rainfall is quite high in winter.
